    Website Tournament Schedule

2008 Season // 2009 Season // 2010 Season

Welcome to the database for the Fishing Headquarters Tournament Circuit. This section has been created to provide anglers with the latest news regarding our seasonal series of tournaments.

This is the homepage of the race for 2009 Fishing Headquarters Tournament Circuit - Angler of the Year.

This award has been added for the sole purpose of “Bragging Rights”, headlining the participating tournament angler who accumulates the most points within the circuit of our five (5) listed Fishing Headquarters tournaments held during the 2009 season.

How Each Tournament Works

First, and before any fishing can be done, anglers must register for each tournament they are interested in participating in. In order to register, anglers must pay attention to the forums for updates and registration information. In addition, anglers must be registered members to our discussion forums as these events are headquartered from our "specie-specific" forums. Once the angler is registered and joins the usergroup that determines who is officially registered for the tournament, he may begin fishing once tournament begins.

The winner of each tournament wins by most cumulative points. This is based on a point scale which is set in value corresponding to the particular fish species you catch, and whether your catches exceed size limits. Certain fish species are designated greater point values than others. These values are determined by many factors which include species size, abundance, population dispersals, and the level of skill needed to catch them. Bonus points may be awarded to fish who exceed the “Big-Fish” size limits established for the particular species.

In each tournament, the participant is able to submit and enter as many catches as possible as long as the catch meets tournament qualifications such as size limits and regulations.

Because we have five (5) tournaments set for each season, the anglers who come away with at least one singe point from all 5 tournaments combined are eligible be in the running for our Angler of the Year award. In previous tournaments, some registered participants never bothered to participate in a single tournament, thus they never placed in the standings. Since anyone who places in the standings in at least one tournament becomes eligible for the Angler of the Year Award, anglers may find additional motivation to participate more in these website sanctioned events, and win free prizes provided by sponsors.

Prizes and Awards

It is imperative to recognize the winning angler’s achievements, and to provide an award on behalf of his participation and first place finish in the final season standings.

Like ALL website contests and tournaments, prizes will be awarded to the winner of 2008 HQ Angler of the Year. These prizes will consist of prize packs and products provided by website sponsors. In addition, other items may be thrown into the award such as baits and fishing accessories. Finally, winner will be featured and headlined on our website’s homepage, and article will be written commemorating and summarizing his angling season.

Race for Angler of the Year - Current Standings

The person with most cumulative points by the end of the year in the Fishing Headquarters Tournament Series will be named "Angler of the Year". The 2009 series will feature five tournaments and the angler with the most total points by series end will be determined winner.

In order to qualify for this prestigious honor, an angler needs at least one single point. This point can be attained in any tournament the angler decides to participate in. If the angler wants to have a shot at winning our Angler of the Year prize, participation in as many possible tournaments is KEY! Obviously, you must also go fishing too!

2009 Angler of the Year Standings
