Lazer Trokar TK300

The Lazer Trokar TK300 treble hook is designed for crankbaits and jerkbaits. It is available in the common freshwater crankbait sizes 2, 4, 5 and 6. TK300 treble hooks feature a short shank to reduce fouling, round bend for a larger gap, 2X strong wire and black chrome finish.

The Lazer Trokar Round Bend Treble Hooks feature a classic round bend design and 2X strong wire construction, making them a great choice for a variety of hard bait applications such as my favorites, crankbaits and jerkbaits. They also feature a shorter shank and wide gap bend, which means you can get away with using a larger size hook to increase hooking percentages, and the hook won’t hang down too far and interfere with your baits action or increase snags.

During the manufacturing process, Lazer Trokar incorporates a unique tempering process, specifically tailored to bring out the maximum strength potential of the ultra-high carbon steel Q741 wire. The result is a stronger hook that allows for aggressive hook-sets and intense fights, and incorporates the right amount of flex to resist breaking and bending like some default factory brands. Like all Lazer Trokar hooks, the Lazer Trokar Round Bend Treble Hooks benefit from Trokar’s unique surgically sharpened three-sided hook points, thus making them twice as sharp as any other hook on the market.

When it comes to my treble hooks, I don’t play any games. A good quality hook is the last link between my line, lure, and the fish. Without sharp treble hooks such as Lazer Trokar’s TK300, anglers put themselves at a disadvantage when fishing reaction baits such as topwaters, jerkbaits and crankbaits. In 2013 I’ve been fishing jerkbaits such as my favorite Matzuo Phantom Minnow and Rapala X-Rap, and crankbaits such as the Cranking Rapala and I’ve been thoroughly impressed by four important characteristics such as sharpness, short shank, wider gap, and strength.

Sharpness

It gets frustrating observing bass swatting, flailing, missing, and rolling over your hard baits without getting hooked. Sometimes this issue can be minimized and even corrected by changing colors or adjusting casting angles and retrieve speeds. But nearly all the time, it can be totally eliminated by replacing dull factory hooks with TK300’s!

I always set the hell out of every hook that comes into contact with a bass. Throughout my usage during spring and summer 2013, I haven’t really had to aggressively or forcefully set the hook in order to ensure a solid, successful hookup.

Short Hook Shank and Wider Gap

The TK300 hook shank is much shorter than many other hook brands and treble hook types. This is due to the compact profile design in allowing anglers to use larger hook sizes without annoying tangles and wasted casts. For most of my fishing, I’ve been using no. 2 and 4 sizes and each cast and retrieve has been tangle-free. Try saying that about any other treble hook with a traditional long hook shank. The concept might be good, but it was never really well thought-out like Lazer Trokar did.

Secondary to the hook shank, the wide gap between hook points and the shaft is substantial in distance, and extremely important in the success of the TK300. The hooks have a lot of room between the hook points and the shank, allowing for solid hookups on big bass. As we all know, most other treble hooks can skin-hook a big bass. But what I’ve observed and experienced are substantially more hookups with these hooks.

Strength

The Lazer Trokar TK300 is built with durability in mind. There was once a time when I didn’t care much about my terminal hardware. I lost many bass due to weak and dull treble hooks. Lazer Trokar has eliminated this problem for myself and many anglers throughout the country.

Priced at $6.99 per 2-pack, the cost of Lazer Trokar Round Bend 2X Treble Hooks aren’t for everyone. If you’re a frequent tournament angler or avid bass angler, I wouldn’t hesitate trying these hooks on your favorite hard baits. They’ll get the job done and prevent bass fishing heartbreaks from taking place.
