In most parts of the Midwest, the 2015 fishing season is concluding. Our partners at Stankx Bait Company are releasing new products for 2016, in time for the Christmas holiday and shopping season. Owner and brew master, Travis Crosman, along with his secret underground molders, are not only producing new designs that are setting the standard in bass fishing and soft plastics, but new colorways and NXT LVL airbrush patterns are being concocted from within his magic lab too.
The new products for 2016 have been openly shared throughout the Stankxbaitco Facebook Page, and published to their website. It’s been difficult keeping track of the new releases because more is still to come. But for Fishing-Headquarters Online Magazine readers who aren’t on social media, or visit their website often, we share these new releases, up till now, with you.
Stankx Bait Company has been introducing new products to its lineup on a consistent basis since 2010. The objective is to obviously please its rapidly-growing customer base that can now be found throughout North America, and to appease bass fishing custom bait aficionados.
In 2015, Crosman went full-time with his soft bait production and has expanded his product line and output to make his baits available at the bass fishing super-giant online retailers that includes Tackle Warehouse, D&R Sportcenter, and Sportsmen’s Direct. With average turnaround time of up to 2 weeks on most orders, Crosman’s final product is well worth the wait. Patience grasshoppers!
Among its never before seen product designs and custom color combinations, the following products have been recently released, and elevated into full time status for 2016:
Ticklr Creature Bait
Dainty 2.5 Jig Trailer
4″ Kick Flip
Gobius Drop Swim
4″ Squirtz Drop Shot
DIY Molds
The 4 inch Kick Flip is a combination between the original DD Tubez and 3″ Side Kick. It’s a tube bait with an attitude designed for flipping, pitching, and skipping. Largemouth bass anglers have been putting this bait to good use since its recent release.
The 2.5″ Ticklr is a handpoured creature bait, giving bass a bite size trailer for downsized jigs and finesse applications. Throughout its testing and post-production periods, it’s been a formidable combination with the Tight Rope Jig, made by successful urban Chicago bass anglers, Jaypee Hey and Ryan Whitacre.
Stankx Bait Co. now offers do-it-yourself molds that are available from $19.99 to $29.99. These silicone open-pour molds made by Crosman’s underground team will allow independent tackle shop junkies and DIY bass anglers the option to pour their own homemade plastics. What other brand is confident and unafraid to sell some of its molds to potential competitors? I don’t know, and it’s well played.
The Squirtz dropshot has been around for almost a full season now, but new colorways keep being added and the product has quickly become one of Crosman’s best-sellers. I’ll get my first bags of the Squirtz in early 2016 for myself and Northwoods Bass Fishing Adventures customers. Yes, that’s not a typo.
The 3.5 Gobius Drop Swim is anticipated to rock the Great Lakes bass fishing world, and excel in waters where gobies dominate the forage base. To be fished with a drop shot rig and on jig head, I look forward to using this bait throughout the Great Lakes for smallmouths, most notably the big water surrounding Wisconsin at Lake Superior’s Chequamegon Bay, Lake Michigan’s Sturgeon Bay, and yes even the outskirts of Chicago where gobies infest on Southern Lake Michigan.
Last but not least, trophy bass hunters, and musky and pike anglers will come to appreciate the new 8 inch swimbait, that is still unnamed. A request for river redhorse and white sucker has already been submitted.
