If you’ve read some of the reviews I’ve written before, or have ever seen my tackle when I’m out fishing, then you know about my profound love for Stankx Bait Company from Kalamazoo, MI.
When I reintroduced myself back into fishing, Stankx Bait Co. was a huge help in reminding me about the art of wacky rigging stick worms, or utilizing killer trailers on my jigs. Given what I’ve seen from them in the past, it’s not hard to believe that the lure masterminds have recently come out with some of the most realistic swimbaits that I’ve ever laid my eyes on.
There are plenty of other lure types on the market that do a great job of imitating baitfish, but how many of them actually look the part close up? If you take a look closely at the Swimz swimbait up close, it’s quite possible that you’ll end up eating them. That’s how realistic Travis Crosman’s, new for 2014, NXT LVL airbrush designs look! They should probably come with a very obvious warning label that says “not for human consumption”. I’m thinking the fish may have a similar opinion when these things come swimming by.
The color options are absolutely insane. From the definitive “Poiches” to “BB 2.0”, the realism on these swimbaits is a game changer. They should absolutely demolish bass and other freshwater fish in any ponds or lakes they’re fished. Additionally, if you’re in a state that allows the Alabama Rig, it’s going to be downright impossible to beat one rigged up with a pack of these swimmers.
If you find yourself just getting into swimbait fishing, or you’ve been a fan for years, do yourself a favor and check out these next level creations from the Stankx Lab. The fish are almost guaranteed to give these beauties a second, or third, look.
